Reportei uses the official iFood API to fetch and display its data in reports and dashboards. As with other integrations, Reportei depends directly on the information that the iFood API provides, and this means that some situations may affect the display of data without it being a Reportei error.
This article explains the most common limitations and what you can do in each case.
Why some iFood data may take time to appear in reports
The financial data of iFood, such as sales values, fees, and reconciliation, follow a weekly processing cycle. This means that the information is not immediately available. They are organized and made available by the iFood API gradually throughout the month.
See how the cycle works.
- Financial entries are grouped by accounting period, month, and year.
- Each week, iFood processes the data from the period of Monday to Sunday previous.
- The accounting occurs the Monday following the end of that period.
- The data becomes available in the API only 7 days after accounting, on the next Monday.
Practical example
Processed period: July 1 to July 7
Accounting: July 8
Data available in the API starting from July 15
Therefore, the data of a month may take up to 2 to 3 weeks after the end of the month to be completely available. Meanwhile, the information may appear partially in Reportei, and this is expected.
Additionally, when you connect iFood to Reportei for the first time, Reportei automatically requests the data from the iFood API. This initial processing may take a few minutes. If the report is opened right after the integration, it is normal for the data to not appear yet. Just wait a few minutes and update the report.
Why the data might be different from the iFood panel
In some cases, there may be temporary differences between what you see in iFood’s own panel and what appears in Reportei. This can happen for a few reasons.
- The data is still being processed by iFood, and the API has not yet completely made it available.
- The consulted period is very recent, and the weekly update cycle has not yet been completed.
- Temporary instabilities in the iFood API may delay the update of data in Reportei.
- Some information displayed in the iFood panel may not be available for consultation via API.
It is important to remember that the data already processed by iFood is immutable, once a period is closed and accounted, the values do not change. Therefore, occasional differences tend to resolve as iFood completes the processing of the following weeks.
Is this a Reportei error?
Not necessarily. Reportei displays exactly the data that the iFood API provides at the time of consultation. When the data appears incomplete, different, or takes time to appear, in many cases, the cause lies in the iFood processing cycle itself and not in a problem with Reportei.
If the data is missing or divergent for an extended period, then it may be worthwhile to contact our support to investigate together.
What to do if you notice missing or divergent data
- Check the analyzed period if it is very recent, the last few days or weeks of the current month, it is possible that the data is still being processed by iFood.
- Wait and update the report in many cases, just waiting a few minutes or until the next weekly cycle and updating the report will make the data appear correctly.
- Contact Reportei support if the difference persists longer than expected, talk to our team. We will be happy to investigate what is happening.
In summary,
iFood’s financial data follows a weekly processing cycle and may take up to 2 to 3 weeks to be completely available after the end of the month.
Reportei relies directly on the iFood API to display this information, so delays or temporary differences may occur and do not always indicate an error.
When the data does not appear as expected, waiting and updating the report usually resolves.
If the problem persists, Reportei support is available to assist.
