After integrating a Google Sheets spreadsheet into Reportei structural changes to the original spreadsheet such as reordering, deleting, or adding columns or rows can directly affect the data in the reports and cause errors in the metrics Therefore we recommend that after integration, changes to the spreadsheet structure be avoided.
If it is necessary to change the spreadsheet structure, such as adding, deleting, or reorganizing columns/rows, it will be necessary to reintegration it and go through the entire setup process again
Changes that may affect the data
If your spreadsheet is vertical, data organized in columns
- Delete or reorder columns
- Insert columns in the middle of the structure
If your spreadsheet is horizontal, data organized in rows
- Delete or reorder rows
- Insert rows in the middle of the structure
These changes may compromise the correct reading of data in reports and metrics
What to do if I need to change the spreadsheet
If you need to change the spreadsheet structure or add new columns/rows, it will be necessary to reintegration the spreadsheet.
Steps to reintegrate the spreadsheet and update integrations
- Access Manage Integrations in the desired project
- Remove the previous integration optional but recommended since there were changes in the spreadsheet and compromise of the previous integration
- Add the new integration from the modified spreadsheet
- Go through the mapping process again of the new spreadsheet, defining which columns or rows will be used and how the data should be interpreted. Remember that once you save the data at this stage, it will not be possible to change it later learn more here):
- Create your metrics charts and tables according to the new configuration
- Add the new integration to your reports and dashboards
- For old reports and dashboards you can replace the old integration with the new one and add the metrics created in the new integration
- Or if you prefer create new reports/dashboards with the new integration
Final tip
To avoid needing to reintegrate carefully review the structure of your spreadsheet before integrating it into Reportei. Ensure that all necessary data is organized and ready for use so that the integration process is as efficient as possible
