Why do my metrics have no data?

There are several reasons why your report might be missing data, and we’ll explain them in the sections below:

  1. Zeroed metrics in the Instagram Business report
  2. Zeroed metrics in the RD Station report
  3. Zeroed metrics in other networks

Zeroed Metrics in the Instagram Business Report

Instagram does not send historical data on follower variations or stories through the API. As a result, we can only capture stories and follower data from the moment the account is integrated with Reportei. So, if you integrated your account on 01/01/2021, we will capture data from that day onwards. If you generate a report for a period before this date, the data will return zero because we don’t have the historical data. Important! To capture data, the Instagram account needs to be correctly linked throughout the entire period.

If you receive a notification requesting reintegration, do so immediately to avoid data loss! If your account was already integrated with Reportei and data related to these metrics are still zeroed, your account was likely disconnected for a period, and the data was not captured.

Additionally, it’s important to highlight how the follower variation metric is calculated:

Follower Variation = Number of followers on the last day of the analysis period – Number of followers on the first day of the analysis

If there is no data on either of these two days, the data will also return zero. For example, if you try to generate a report from 01/01 – 31/01, but your account was disconnected from 16/01 – 01/02, and you only reconnected on 02/02, the metric will return zero. Since the data from 31/01 was not captured because the account was disconnected.

Note: The lack of data due to account disconnection only affects the follower and stories metrics! All other Instagram report metrics have historical data and will provide the correct data for the period.

Zeroed Metrics in the RD Station Report

RD Station does not pass historical data through the API. Therefore, Reportei only starts capturing information after the account is integrated into the tool. So, if you integrated this account now, your data will start being monitored from this moment. But don’t worry, because in reports with dates, the RD Station information will be complete =)

Remember, there will only be historical data from the integration date onwards. It will not be possible to analyze retrospective data.

Zeroed Metrics in Other Networks

For other networks, all metrics have historical data. The main reasons why your report might be missing data are:

1. No data in the network itself for the selected analysis period

For Instagram, we have the limitation of Followers and Stories history. We depend on the account being integrated for the entire period to return any data. For other networks, you need to verify if there is data for the period. Access the network itself and check if data is appearing there by selecting the exact same report period. Sometimes, networks might not return data for the selected period.Example: Zeroed Meta Ads report. Access the ad manager integrated with Reportei, filter by the exact report date, and open the “campaigns” tab. Check if there is data there. If there is, verify the following two options.

    2. The wrong account is integrated with Reportei

You can check in the report itself or on the integrations page which account you integrated with Reportei. If it’s the wrong account, remove it and add the correct one on the integrations page. After that, generate a new report.

    3. Lack of some access permission

In Reportei, information from social networks and other channels is passed directly through each network’s API. We depend on access permissions and validation tokens to ensure data is successfully sent, not interrupted, and that reports are generated without problems. Therefore, it’s crucial to grant permissions when connecting an account to Reportei. Changing any permission during integration can affect data collection and even interfere with other accounts already connected to Reportei.

To resolve this situation, reintegrate the account on the integrations page, ensuring all access permissions are granted to Reportei. Once done, generate a new report.
