It is Google’s advertising platform aimed at service providers serving customers in a region, such as plumbers, electricians, lawyers, clinics, real estate agencies, and pest control companies. The ads appear at the top of Google Search and Google Maps, usually with the ‘Google Verified’ badge next to the company’s name.

Google Local Services is available on the Premium plan.

What is Google Local Service

The major difference between Google Local Services and other ad networks is the billing model: the advertiser pays per lead, not per click or impression. A lead is a real contact from a consumer with the company, such as a call, a message, or a booking made from the ad.

Therefore, what matters to track also changes. Reportei lists only Google Ads accounts with a Local Services campaign. Accounts without such a campaign do not appear to avoid unexplained empty reports.

Those who use an MCC administrator account with multiple clients can also integrate clients’ accounts with Local Services campaigns; they appear on the selection list.

Once integrated, you can use the account in both reports and dashboards, as with other integrations.

Important notes

Leads and charged leads are different numbers. Leads count all contacts the company received in the period, charged or not. Charged leads count only those that Google charged for, and this is the number the amount spent refers to. Therefore, Reportei always calculates the cost per lead based on the charged leads.

Reportei also counts the two numbers on different dates: the lead enters on the date it originated, and the charge occurs on the date it happened. That is, Google can charge a lead from the end of the month only in the following month.

Credited leads are those that Google reimbursed after a company’s contestation. Therefore, Google does not charge for them.

Google considers a call connected when it lasts more than 30 seconds. This is the same criterion that Google itself uses.

Calls and conversations are logged in the period they occurred, not on the lead date. Thus, an August report includes August calls, even those that responded to a July lead.

Daily budget shows the current campaign configuration, not the value from the analyzed period.

Average CPC and CPM are just references. As Google Local Services does not charge per click, Reportei divides the amount spent by clicks for comparison purposes only.

There is no campaign filter. Google allows only one Local Services campaign per account, and leads do not indicate which campaign they belong to.

Google is migrating local service ads to a new campaign format. Therefore, Reportei recognizes both formats, even when the same account has both.

The dates follow the time zone set in the Google Ads account, not the project time zone in Reportei. This way, leads align with the numbers from the platform itself.

The graphs display all days of the period, including days with no leads, which appear as zero.

When there is no activity during the period, the metrics appear as no data, not as zero. The Daily budget is the exception and always appears.

Not all combinations are possible in custom graphs and tables. You cannot break down investment and delivery metrics, such as Amount Spent or Impressions, by lead type or status, and vice-versa. In these cases, Reportei displays a warning.

If you revoke the Google account access or it expires, Reportei displays a message asking to reintegrate the account, as with other Google integrations.

In the blocks with grouped Ads metrics, the amount spent on Google Local Services is included in the total investment. It is only excluded from the grouped cost per conversion because this network works with leads, not purchases.

In case of doubt, contact our Support team via chat. =)

Now you can integrate Google Local Services with Reportei and track your leads, calls, and conversations directly in your reports and dashboards Google Local Services is also known as Local Services Ads or Google local service ads.
